Train Sets

This spectacular cardboard model train showcases artwork by artists at Gilimbaa in collaboration with The Department of Transport and Main Roads. Entitled “Travelling”, the artwork symbolizes pathways across the land to the sea, opening up the country and connecting the people of Queensland, as well as representing the vision and journey of their Reconciliation Action Plan. Assemble both pages to create the full 6-carriage train.

If you have a healthy budget, then consider investing in a play set that is a little more than usual. Let the kids assemble and play with a full train set like this example for the NGR trains in Brisbane.

Full train sets usually need to be made in A3 size to achieve three carriages. If your train has more carriages, then we can organise to have additional pages packaged to be a set. We try where possible to be environmentally friendly, we can provide options for partial or fully recycled stocks, using biodegradable inks and recycled packaging.

Your model can be created by you providing a range of materials to make it as accurate as possible. Technical drawings are a great start, but also photos of the sides, undercarriage and roof all help to get those little details just right.

We try our best to recreate your train so it has immediate recognition of the real thing. A model that even though it’s made from cardboard rivals plastic models but at a fraction of the cost. When it comes to production quantities, please note to make the models cost-effective we don’t recommend less than 1000 units be produced. Extensive time goes into developing the die and the artwork which needs to be allowed.

Production can take up to four weeks for design, concept, production and delivery. For existing models that are just reprints or require minor artwork changes we can accomplish speedier turn-around times, please contact us to confirm.

Having a cardboard model train set produced is an easy and cost-effective product that you can use at fairs, school events, corporate shows or just to send to employees as a gift.
